september update:

It's been really busy, so I'm back to the monthly updates for now.  We had some dietary changes in September.  They opened up the food services to all children in the district, so we get free food (or with our taxes, I suppose) each week.  Naomi does not miss the cafeteria food at all, but they also give us some fresh food in a box that we can use throughout the week.  Some of it isn't very nutritious, but it saves us quite a bit on groceries.  Also, Manny is onto a new phase of his workout regimen and is eating more calories and thus some  more carbs.  Mostly I cook the same, but mentally I feel okay to reintroduced things like pasta and pizza to our meals.  It's good timing for desserts, too, as I make them for my Pampered Chef parties, for which I still only do 0-2 a month.  I am going to increase work hours as Isaac gets older.  My dream is to save up for a Masters in Library and Information Science degree.  More on that another time.

Citrus chicken, pork al pastor (from the butcher), sopa, beans, peppers, and Italian wedding soup.  I know albondigas would have been more appropriate, but it was leftover soup.

Nacho copying my push-ups.

Naomi likes to make mac and cheese from scratch.  She made some for a picnic with friends (I gave her guidelines to follow for sharing food lol).

Got our pizza stone!

And pizza peel!  I earned these both for free through Pampered Chef.

Fire in the sky (taken by someone else).

Sausage cornbread stuffing.

One of my favorite actors passed away. 😢 This is Boseman in 42.

Chicken skewers with peanut satay, kale salad, and some leftover beef.

Spontaneous date to Lazy Dog!  I got the pad thai and took some home to Naomi.  M had the ribs.  We also got the kids some taiyaki.

White pizza on PC's 5-minute yeastless pizza dough.

Pretty cool cake pan that does all the letters and numbers and some symbols.

Homemade Apple Spice Cake and Chai Toffee Chip Ice Cream.  The cake was good, but the ice cream was like gourmet (requires tempering eggs, so almost like a frozen custard).  I used Vanilla Caramel Chai teabags to make it.

Nacho fell out of his bed but was too asleep to get back in.

Lasagna rolls.  I only made five, and Lucas ate four of them, so unfortunately we didn't have any (Naomi got the remaining one).

Nacho falling asleep while chewing on his toy.

Caramel Croissant Bread Pudding.

Taiwanese Beef with noodles, mini wontons, and chicken rice porridge.

Look at all the food from the district!  The following week, I had to say we only had two kids, and then only one kid the week after that.

Apple crisp.  I noticed my oven doesn't brown as much as expected, so I might broil or add a few minutes in the future.

At outdoor service to become members of our new church!

Leftover turkey meatloaf, roasted brussels sprouts, and air-fried potatoes.

Working through just one of Naomi's precalculus homework problems.  This is very hard to learn online or independently.  I think it will benefit her to return to school, though I understand there will be a risk.

April 2026 (Naomi's birthday, Michael, dinner dates, Frenchie puppies, Artemis launch)

Naomi had her big milestone birthday in April, and we got to make up for our Hello Kitty Cafe celebration for my birthday by celebrating her...
